Your Casa Vento team has covered almost 50000 km by car over the entire island of Madeira, Portugal in the period from January 2020 to September 2023. So it is only logical that we have passed many viewpoints on many many exploratory trips. Some of them we have targeted, others we have discovered after arduous hikes rather by chance.

Feuerwerk Funchal

Although there are also many people here to celebrate in the center of the fireworks, but it is in any case much more familiar than at the port. This is not a classic miradouro, so as a little bonus in our collection.

Sao Lourenco

The peninsula of Sao Lorenco in the east of Madeira is the part of the island with the least vegetation. Often windy, mostly dry and much visited. Nevertheless, even here you can find a quiet place. You just have to turn wrong at the last traffic circle.

Lombo do Mouro

An initially disappointing approach on which you must not give up, leads to the ridge of Lombo do Mouro. Here you have a spectacular view to Sao Vicente and Pico Arieiro. An early start increases the chance of good visibility.

It's hard to believe what interesting hobbies some Madeirans engage in. Here someone has created an entire church garden over several terraces. And the view into the valley of Ribeira Brava is just as crazy.

Ponta do Clerigo

At first, the view along the north coast stretches only eastward, but wait and see what an overwhelming panorama opens up to you at the very end of the hike on Ponta do Clerigo. Daredevils go up to the measuring column.
