We offer sports activities such as canyoning, climbing and
hiking at various levels of difficulty. To make it easier for you to choose,
we have developed a clear scale for each activity so that you can see at a glance how challenging
the individual activities are.
As our offers in Madeira differ greatly from one another, there is a separate
scale for each sport. In canyoning, for example, the total duration plays a different role to that
of a climbing course, as it is difficult to stop in the middle of a canyon descent. With climbing,
on the other hand, you can take a break at any time after completing the route.
The higher an individual tour is rated, the more challenging it is. The activities
and their ratings are difficult to compare with each other. A canyoning tour at
level 3 sometimes has different requirements than a levada hike at the same level.
The total time always includes clothing and instruction.
In some cases, individual details contradict the classifications, for example the heights of the
waterfalls. For example, if a canyoning tour only has a single high waterfall of 40 meters, and all
other abseiling points are rather low, then it still receives a level 3 rating.
Look forward to an exciting canyoning tour in Madeira, whether in Seixal, Porto Moniz, Calheta,
Funchal or Ribeira Brava!
